EFT deposit not credited
Check your deposit reference code first — an incorrect reference is the most common cause of delays. Standard Bank and Nedbank deposits usually arrive near-instantly because Luno is a bank-approved beneficiary. FNB deposits may take longer. Contact Luno support if not credited after 1 business day.
Absa EFT deposit not working
Luno says plain EFT from Absa is not available. Use Absa Pay instant deposit instead, which authenticates inside the Absa app. After your first successful payment, subsequent deposits can be approved with one tap. Alternatively, use EFT to VALR from Absa.
Capitec EFT deposit not working
Capitec suspended EFT and immediate payments to all crypto wallets in October 2024. Use Capitec Pay instead (up to R150,000). You need a fully verified Luno account with a South African ID. Raise your Capitec online/scan-to-pay limit in the app before depositing.
How to set up faster deposits
Standard Bank: set up DigiME and add Luno as a bank-approved company beneficiary. Nedbank: search 'LUNO' in bank-approved recipients. FNB: manually add Luno using Standard Bank banking details and BX/LN reference. All deposits must come from a bank account in your own name.
Luno supports eft-south-africa for deposits.
Luno typically completes KYC verification in same day.
