Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, and Crypto.com all support ACH bank linking for USD deposits. Binance.US also supports ACH in the US, but availability and rails can differ by state and banking partner.
Trading is often available quickly after an ACH deposit posts, but cashout and crypto withdrawals can be delayed by risk holds. Coinbase applies "funds on hold" windows that can restrict sending or cashing out until the bank transfer fully clears. Kraken can also apply time-based withdrawal holds on some deposits, especially early on.
ACH limits are set by the exchange and your account history, and they can change after additional verification or consistent activity. On Gemini, ACH and wire limits are published under account limits and vary by verification tier.
The biggest issues are name mismatches (bank account name vs exchange profile), Plaid linking failures, and ACH returns that trigger temporary restrictions. If your bank flags the merchant as high risk, the link may succeed but transfers can still be reversed.
ACH is usually cheaper than cards, but slower and more likely to come with withdrawal holds while it clears. Debit cards are instant but often cost more and can be blocked, while wires are best for larger same-day funding when your exchange supports them.
